Sept 21
We will recap our Dry Island field trip by researching and answering questions that came up while we were there.
We have been working on review for our Math Assessment OF Learning for our Coordinates and Design Unit. Please review your practice sheets. If you need extra practice, please take home your textbook and complete the Chapter 1 review.
Today we will be learning about Producers, Consumers and Decomposers.

Today we will be going on our Dry Island Buffalo Jump Field Study for Social Studies and Science.


Sept 19

In Science today we learned about river systems and the development of young rivers, mature rivers, old rivers, and deltas. We made our field booklets for tomorrow's field trip to Dry Island Buffalo Jump.
In Math we reviewed Coordinates and Design in preparation of unit test on Monday, Sept 24
Our mini rugby tournament was super fun today!


Sept 18

We in math will be working in small peer and teacher led groups to practice our transformations.
In science we will be learning about Producers, Consumers and Decomposers.
Today we will be attending the Dawe run in the afternoon. Please remember to dress for the weather and bring good shoes, water and a bag lunch.


Sept 17
Today in math we will learn about determining horizonal and vertical distances using the Cartesian Plane.
In Science we will be writing an assessment OF our learning (basic needs of living things, symbiosis, human impact on ecosystems)


Sept 13-14

Please remember to resturn your Dawe Run and Dry Island Buffalo Jump permission forms.
Today we will practice problems involving transformations in math. Coordinates and Design Unit test will be next week (Wednesday for AM math class and Friday for PM class)
In Science we will be continuing with our discussion and studies for Symbiotic relationships. Please remember to study for your little quiz on Monday.


Sept 12
Today we will be learning about transformations on the Cartesian Plane: Reflection, Rotation, and Translation. Please see the the activities, games and videos under the Math link (Unit1)
We will be learning about Symbiosis today (mutualism, commensalism, and parasitism)

Sept 11

Today in math we will practice creating designs using the Cartesian Plane. Please see the math link for videos and games to practice plotting coordinates.
In Science we will take a look at human impact on ecosystems. We also will take a look at adaptations. On Monday we will be having a little quiz on what we've learned so far in Interactions and Ecosystems (please see unit 1 under our Science link on the wiki to review).

Sept 10
We will be writing our Science Safety Quiz today
We will be using coordinates and the Cartesian Plane to create designs in math
In Science we will be discussing our Project for our Interactions and Ecosystems Unit (QR Codes for our Living things music videos). We started learning about ecosystems and the basic needs of living things.

In Physical Education we will be doing our fitness benchmarks.
